WORKSHOPS

Join the Affective Cartographies Workshop (4–5 November, 9:00–13:00) and rediscover Iași through perception, emotion, and memory. Led by assist. prof. arch. Tiberiu Teodor-Stanciu and assist. prof. arch. Ramona Costea, the workshop invites architecture students to explore the city centre during a sensory guided tour and then translate their impressions into a collective plexiglass collage – a living map of shared experiences.
Open to 15 architecture students.
Location: City Centre and FAST Atelier, Faculty of Architecture “G.M. Cantacuzino”, Iași.
Application deadline: 20 October.

How can existing buildings adapt to new needs? The Transformations Workshop (4–5 November, 9:00–13:00) explores sustainable reuse and circular design with mentors from MVRDVBetty Drăgan, Miruna Dunu, and Ciprian Buzdugan.
Students in their third year or higher will analyse real sites in Iași and propose adaptive interventions using the CarbonScape tool. The results will be showcased on 6 November within the Transformations Exhibition, alongside MVRDV’s Carbon Confessions and ABC of Sustainability.
Up to 25 participants. Applications are open until 20 October via the online form.

What happens when images travel from one person to another? The Broken Telephone (with images) (4–5 November) reimagines the classic “telephone” game as a reflection on how we read and reinterpret visual messages. Led by photographers Laurian Ghinițoiu and Marius Vasile, participants will successively reinterpret images in a creative chain where meaning evolves and transforms. The complete series will be exhibited on 6 November at Baia Turcească.
Open to 20 architecture students. Application deadline: 20 October.
