RO: Liliana Ursu s-a născut la Sibiu și este poetă, eseistă și traducătoare. Absolventă a Universității București și membră a Uniunii Scriitorilor din România, a fost profesor asociat la universități din România, SUA și Franța, și a beneficiat de două burse Fulbright. A fost Poet in Residence la Stadler Center și Baltic Centre for Writers and Translators.

Poeziile sale au fost traduse în numeroase limbi și publicate în reviste internaționale precum The New Yorker, American Poetry Review și The Kenyon Review. Printre premiile sale se numără Premiul Uniunii Scriitorilor, Marele Premiu George Coșbuc, și Premiul PEN Southwest Book Award, fiind nominalizată la Oxford Weidenfeld Prize și PEN American Prize.

A debutat în 1977 cu volumul Viața deasupra orașului, urmat de alte 14 volume de poezie și memorii, inclusiv Loc ferit, Fericita lumină și Cartea pașilor (2023).

EN: Liliana Ursu was born in Sibiu and is a poet, essayist, and translator. A graduate of the University of Bucharest and a member of the Writers’ Union of Romania, she has taught at universities in Romania, the U.S., and France, and is a two-time Fulbright fellow.
