RO: Palatul Culturii, este a doua cl\u0103dire de pe harta festivalului ce poart\u0103 amprenta arhitectului Duiliu Marcu. Reconstruit\u0103 de acesta \u00een anii treizeci, dup\u0103 cele doua incendii ce i-au mistuit interiorul, cl\u0103direa suprinde o interesant\u0103 sintez\u0103 \u00eentre arhitectura original\u0103 a arhitec\u021bilor vienezi Helmer \u0219i Felmer \u0219i reinterpret\u0103rile stilistice \u00een idiom modernist, specifice operelor de maturitate ale lui Duiliu Marcu. Interiorul, renovat la finele anilor \u201820, poart\u0103 o puternic\u0103 amprent\u0103 neobizantin\u0103, \u00een timp ce fa\u021bada, redesenat\u0103 la mijlocul anilor \u201830, este puternic influen\u021bat\u0103 de ra\u021bionalismul italian a lui Piacentini, arhitect admirat de Marcu \u00een acesta etap\u0103 a carierei sale.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Palatul Culturii g\u0103zduie\u0219te ast\u0103zi trei teatre – rom\u00e2n, maghiar \u0219i german -, precum \u0219i Opera de stat. Balconul Operei a fost punctul de coagulare a mi\u0219c\u0103rilor de protest ce au culminat \u00een revolu\u021bia anticomunist\u0103 din 1989.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Timp de dou\u0103 zile, pe 2 \u0219i 4 noiembrie, sala mare a Palatului Culturii va fi gazda sec\u021biunii Talks a festivalului.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

EN The Palace of Culture is the second building on the festival map to bear the mark of architect Duiliu Marcu. Rebuilt by him in the 1930’s, after the two fires that destroyed its interior, the building is an interesting synthesis of the original architecture of the Viennese architects Helmer and Felmer and the stylistic reinterpretations in a modernist idiom, typical of Duiliu Marcu’s mature works. The interior, renovated in the late 1920s, bears a strong neo-Byzantine imprint, while the fa\u00e7ade, redesigned in the mid-1930s, is strongly influenced by the Italian rationalism of Piacentini, an architect admired by Marcu at this stage of his career.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Today, Timi\u0219oara \u2018s Palace of Culture houses three theatres – Romanian, Hungarian and German – as well as the State Opera. The Opera Balcony was the focal point of the protest movements that culminated in the anti-communist revolution of 1989.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
